What's the biggest barrier to practicing medicine today? Patients in the U.S. are "over-medicalized," says David L. Katz, MD, MPH, in response to one of the 10 questions MedPage Today is asking thought leaders in medicine.
Katz is the founding director of the Yale-Griffin Prevention Research Center and a clinical instructor in medicine at the Yale School of Medicine. He is the editor-in-chief of the journal Childhood Obesity, incoming president of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, founder and president of the nonprofit Turn the Tide Foundation, and medical director for the Integrative Medicine Center at Griffin Hospital in Derby, Conn.
