This year, the Montana Summer Institute, to be held June 21-24, is focused on Navigating Transformation: Increasing Health & Safety with Positive Community Norms, and it has never felt more relevant. The in-person event has sold out, but joining virtually is still a great option!
Dr. Jeff Linkenbach will be offering an all-day workshop on “Advancing Applications of HOPE (Healthy Outcomes from Positive Experiences) through the Science of the Positive” as part of this four day learning event. He will be joined by Corey Best who, in partnership with child welfare leaders, communities and parents, has curated the racially just and equitable Authentic Family Engagement and Strengthening Approach, as well as by Carla Ritz, prevention advocate and former Executive Director of First 5 Lake County.
Other sessions will focus on the applications of Positive Community Norms, cutting-edge norms research, real-world practitioner case studies, and hands-on skill building that will help you increase health, strengthen norms, and build lasting change and transformation in your community.
This year, in an effort to make this conference more accessible to those working with foster youth and those at risk of entering foster care, The majority of sessions in this conference are based on Title IV-E billable topics. The full agenda is attached with Title IV-E topics highlighted in green.
The truth is that transformation isn’t easy. Even positive change can be difficult and messy, especially when you are in the thick of it.
