In trauma-informed care there is a large focus on strength-based skill building, and we are always trying to find new ways to do this and celebrate all the great things that these young people do each and every day. I want to bring your attention to a way we attempted to this using social media this week.
The Volunteer Organization of CPRI (VOCPRI), and the Child and Parent Resource Institute (CPRI) in London Ontario Canada, are in the midst of a social media and video campaign called #500kSTRONG to celebrate the strengths of young people with mental health challenges.
Youth partners from across Ontario were invited to record a video to Buffy Sainte-Marie's song "We Are Circling," to represent the strengths of these 500,000 young people.
The video was released yesterday at 6 PM, and now the push is on! Over the next year, we are hoping to get 500,000 views of the video, one view to represent every child and youth in Ontario who has a mental health challenge.
