"They are investing more than $1 million in federal grant money to build a “trauma-informed” system of care statewide, a project directed by Leslie Brower of the Division of Substance Abuse and Mental Health services.... State officials want to incorporate the findings of a decadelong trauma study – the Adverse Childhood Experiences Study – that showed powerful correlations between traumatic events and serious lifelong problems."
