A very short video about how Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) affect adult illness such as heart disease, autoimmune disease and cancer, and why I wrote Childhood Disrupted: How Your Biography Becomes Your Biology, And How You Can Heal.
Thank you for the video, your book and continued efforts to raise awareness. Sad and appalling the amount of medical and mental health groups/organizations who still don't get this [or want to 'get it'].
You speak with clarity and your passion about this comes through. I do wish you didnβt limit your desire for raising awareness and ACE screening in the traditional medical setting to physicians. Nurses - particularly advanced practice nurses like Nurse Practitioners - and others (PAs) are also at the frontlines of healthcare and equally need to be aware of ACE impact on health and well-being. I like using the all-inclusive term, βhealthcare providersβ when I write and speak about this.
