I've watched this 2012 1 hour, 45 minute video of Dr. Judith Beck interviewing her father, Dr. Aaron T. Beck (Cognitive Behavior Therapy Developer, Beck Institute) and was fascinated with two things he talks about! One is the link between depression and childhood experiences (at roughly the 31st - 35th minute), and second, the idea that childhood experience research will link up to CBT therapy in the future (at roughly the l hour, 35th minute).
These are fascinating points in a historically rich history of Beck, his development of CBT, and what his vision of the future might include. Makes me wonder if there is work "overlap" now between the Beck Institute and ACE Study cohorts on these very issues? Does anyone know? Since CBT has such a vast wealth of empirical data, and the founder talks about his own knowledge of childhood adversity and mental health treatment, I was hoping there was ongoing work within our own ACES community on this now?
