Thousands of children and their families across central Africa have struggled through cycles of violent conflict and economic poverty, which often create the hidden scars of severe trauma and fear.

Dave Lockridge, ACE Overcomers executive director, was there engaging and educating people about the science of adverse childhood experiences, and trauma-informed and resilience-building practices based on ACEs science.
ACE Overcomers has provided training and facilitated workshops to:
- 120 community leaders
- 800 young people
- 70 counselors & social workers
- 300 medical & university students
- 440 educators (over 200 committed to stop caning their students.)
- 124 Ex-child soldiers & war wefugees
- 64 clients at a drug recovery center
- 400 church attendees
ACE Overcomers continues to work alongside local resilient leaders, bringing much needed tools on how to address trauma and build resilient communities.
