Seeking Safety Certificate Training hosted by Fathers & Families Coalition of America is a fantastic opportunity to received an advanced practitioner training by Treatment Innovation's highlighted trauma informed care, ptsd, domestic violence evidence based model on Thursday, February 22nd that is "free" of an additional training fee as customary for this type of a program. Limited conference attendees can RSVP this training with a a one-day or full conference paid registration.

Powerhouse speakers taking the helm  at the 19th Annual Fathers & Families 2018 National Conference Head Start teachers, family service workers, child welfare workers, fatherhood practitioners, criminal justice professionals, foster care and social policy makers that are working with children and families will greatly benefit from these transformational change innovators and experts. We rely heavily on transformational change speakers to continue to inject new life into the father, child and family wellness area. For there to be continuous quality improvement, superior professional development of practitioners in the field and ongoing parental education there must be the torch bearers who keep the movement in high gear.

Read more on the our featured model training developed by Lisa M. Najavits, PhD who is Professor of Psychiatry, Boston University School of Medicine; and adjunct professor, University of Massachusetts Medical School. She is a research psychologist at Veterans Affairs (VA) Boston Healthcare System and the Bedford VA; and Director of Treatment Innovations. She was on the faculty of Harvard Medical School for 25 years. Her major clinical and research interests are substance abuse, trauma, co-morbidity, behavioral addictions, veterans' mental health, community-based care, development of new psychotherapies and outcome research. Dr. Najavits is author of over 190 professional publications, as well as the books Seeking Safety: A Treatment Manual for PTSD and Substance Abuse; A Woman's Addiction Workbook; and the upcoming self-help book, Recovery from Trauma, Addiction or Both: Finding Your Best Self, as well as the new treatment manual, Creating Change: A PastFocused Treatment Manual for Trauma and Addiction. She has served as President of the Society of Addiction Psychology of the American Psychological Association and is on various advisory boards including the Journal of Traumatic Stress; the Journal of Gambling Studies; the Journal of Dual Diagnosis, and Psychological Trauma: Theory, Research, Practice, and Policy. She has received various awards, including the 1997 Young Professional Award of the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies, the 1998 Early Career Contribution Award of the Society for Psychotherapy Research, the 2004 Emerging Leadership Award of the American Psychological Association Committee on Women and the 2009 Betty Ford Award of the Addiction Medical Education and Research Association. Dr. Najavits is a licensed Psychologist in Massachusetts and conducts a psychotherapy practice. She received her PhD in Clinical Psychology from Vanderbilt University and her Bachelor's with Honors from Barnard College of Columbia University.
