ACEs Connection member on All Things Considered today Oct. 1

Achris

ACEs Connection member Christopher Anderson who was profiled on this site was mentioned today on NPR’s program All Things Considered in the story Campus Sexual Assault Law Now Includes Language on Same-Sex Violence.

Here is Chris' note to friends and colleagues about this:

I wanted to give you a heads up that I will be mentioned (and I believe will have quotes from a recorded interview I did with Joe a few months ago as well) on All Things Considered this afternoon in piece on campus sexual violence that discusses same sex sexual assault and the need to make sure that we widen the lens and include all survivors in our efforts to combat sexual violence. Please feel free to share widely. See below for details and approximate air times.

FYI – I was also interviewed via SKYPE earlier this week by Bonnie Erbe who is the host of the PBS program “To The Contrary” for a piece that will air soon that also discusses male sexual victimization.

Please know that we are still accepting registrations for our conference at the end of October. Survivors and professionals across all disciplines are invited and encouraged to attend. As a quick reminder, Matt Sandusky is our opening keynote speaker and we will have workshops and presentations that focus on areas of important focus at this time such as military sexual assault of males, male sexual trafficking, and an International Panel to discuss the work to ensure survivors all around the world are supported. We also have opportunities for sponsorship and exhibitors for those who may be interested.

Best,

Chris

So great to hear you will be giving voice to the MANY men and boys who are victims of sexual abuse Christopher!  We definitely need to re-educate the public that sexual violence is a HUMAN right's issue and NOT a gender issue!  I look forward to hearing your comments and hope that many will listen with an open mind and heart.  To minimize anyone's suffering is simply unacceptable.
