Isn't it more desirable to prevent a problem than fix a problem? Trauma informed care happens after the occurrence of adverse childhood experiences. How about trauma informed prevention?? Since most of the ten original adverse childhood experiences are examples of harmful parenting, prevention of aces must take the form of some kind of proactive parenting education that discourages harmful parenting and encourages supportive parenting. What's really awesome about these parenting tips on cars is how people react to them. Bakersfield residents who have tips on their cars report that at stoplights drivers point, nod, smile, and give thumbs up...and often a phone is used to take a pic of the tip right at the stoplight!

Raising awareness about ACEs will help everyone, I strongly believe that. I when i learned about ACEs and the impacts ACEs had on my life and how i meove through the world (including how I interact with my loved ones and how i parent). As I focused on healing from my ACEs and recognizing the self care I HAD to give myself (oxygen mask on first...) that lead to a natural transition to my parenting differently.
