As we stand at the threshold of 2025, the movement for trauma-informed policy and practice faces an unprecedented opportunity. With new leadership taking office at every level of government – from City Councils to Congress – we have a unique moment to advance policies that can prevent trauma and foster healing in communities across America.
And transformation requires more than just good timing. It demands infrastructure, tools, and resources that can amplify the voices of local advocates and transform grassroots passion into lasting change.
The statistics are stark: 70% of U.S. adults have experienced at least one traumatic event, and nearly half of all children endure at least one adverse experience by age 18. The annual economic burden of ACEs-related health conditions reaches a staggering $14.1 trillion – approximately $88,000 per affected adult annually.
Yet behind these numbers lies an even more urgent truth: trauma is preventable, and healing is possible through healthy connections and informed policy changes. The challenge isn't knowing what to do – it's building the capacity to do it effectively.
At CTIPP, we believe those closest to the challenges posed by trauma are best positioned to shape the solutions to prevent and heal that trauma.
That's why we're launching "Amplify the Movement 2025," an initiative to provide trauma-informed advocates nationwide with free, accessible infrastructure and software tools.
This new platform will enable local leaders to:
Connect directly with state legislators, school boards, city councils, and county supervisors
Access customizable templates for policy proposals and advocacy materials
Share success stories and best practices across communities
Build coalitions with other local advocates
Research shows that these interventions work. Achieving the best results requires sustained, strategic advocacy and implementation at all levels of government.
Our advocacy platform isn't just about providing tools – it's about building long-term capacity for change. By creating infrastructure that any organization can access, regardless of size or resources, we're laying the groundwork for a more equitable and effective advocacy landscape.
Every donation, regardless of size, helps build this shared resource, and every dollar above our goal will further propel our collective work forward. True to our trauma-informed principles, access to these tools will always be free and open to all advocates, whether they can contribute financially or not.
