Untreated Trauma and Chronic Disease Network
Agenda – April 18th, 1pm -3 pm
Meeting objectives:
1) agree on a primary goal for the network
2) agree on some “first steps” to advance us toward that goal
1) A proposed Network Goal: (20 minutes) To build successful identification of trauma in primary care practice (which includes pediatric practice), supported by a robust referral system that includes community service partners.
- “community service partners” may include the community mental health clinics, the family centers, the case workers at the Department of Children & Families, VDH WIC clinics, Children’s Integrated Services, domestic violence centers, etc.

3) Obstacles we face: (10 minutes)
- Lack of knowledge among primary care providers (PCPs - doctors, nurse practitioners, physician assistants)

- Training for PCPs
- Identify cheerleaders in Blueprint practices
- Identify and highlight what is working within PCPs, other medical settings
- Train to the Veteran’s Administration 4-question PTSD screen for adults
- Identify effective pediatric trauma screen
