Being part of the movement

As many of my friends linked to the 60 Minutes segment by Oprah, I commented on a few that I was proud to be part of the movement.  I have had the privilege of being part of my agency's training team, which has conducted more than 45 trainings for more than 2,700 people in the last two years.  These have taken place in schools, county departments of social services, police departments, and hospitals, to name a few.  It feels so good to be able to say that we have been working to help diverse populations better understand what we know to be a public health crisis.

To that end, LaSalle School has also coordinated what I think will be a fantastic symposium that will harness the momentum generated by the national conversation.  The registration for the 5th Annual Capital District ACEs Symposium opened today, and we are so excited to have Nadine Burke Harris as our keynote speakers as well as a screening of Resilience and a panel moderated by James Redford.  If you'd like to register, click here.  The event is free.

I am beyond pleased that my work and the work of my colleagues is part of this movement, and I can't wait to see where we will go from here.
