"Liberal Democrat Peer Baroness Brinton led a debate on the level of education support and mental health provision available to children who are severely bullied at school, on 20 June 2013.
"According to bullying charity, Red Balloon, over 16,000 children in England between the ages of 11 and 15 are unable to go to school because they have been severely bullied.
"Severe bullied children will often miss many days of school through sickness or truancy and can be left lacking in confidence, depressed, self-harming and suicidal by their experiences."
