APHA 2017 ATLANTA - CALL FOR ABSTRACTS - DEADLINE FEB 23
The Mental Health Section of the American Public Health Association (APHA) invites you to submit abstracts for the 2017 Annual Conference in Atlanta, Georgia, November 4 – 8, 20017. Submit your abstract to the Mental Health Section here: https://apha.confex.com/apha/2017/mh.htm
Our conference program supports the behavioral health field’s shift towards a population health framework. We recognize that stressors are experienced across all socio-economic, cultural and ethnic demographic groups, and that mental health symptoms are associated with a range of social determinants. The Mental Health Section sessions at the APHA conference attract people from a wide range of roles and disciplines, and offer a thoughtful place to move forward the cross-sector strategies required to improve health.
In 2017 we especially welcome abstracts with implications for: Behavioral Health Policy and Practice, Climate Change and Behavioral Health Disparities, Criminal Justice and Mental Health, Families and Children Across the Life Span, Integrated Behavioral Health: Mental Health and Substance Abuse, Integrated Mental Health and Chronic Disease Intervention Strategies, Methods, Prevention/Early Intervention, Resilience to Violence and Trauma, Serious Mental Illness Diagnoses and Pervasive Developmental Diagnoses, Strategies to Promote Health and Combat Stigma, Suicide, Treatment access, engagement, activation and disparities, Veterans and Active Military Mental Health. We will consider other mental health topics as well.
Feel free to contact Mary Jane Alexander, the APHA Mental Health Section Program Chair MaryJane.Alexander@nki.rfmh.org
