Call for Presenters
We are looking for presenters to offer breakout sessions for this collaborative symposium, being held on September 10th, 2022, from 8am-1pm on the Armstrong Campus of Georgia Southern University in Savannah, Georgia. The symposium will include over 400 community members, local professionals,and other professionals interested in learning about supporting mental health and trauma-informed practices.
As a presenter, we are asking that you consider presenting a 45-minute session (30 content, 15 q/a) that addresses one of the strands of the conference:
(HEAL)
-Heal
practices related to: self-care, mindful self-compassion, trauma-sensitive yoga, coping skills)
-Equity- (- justice, equity and inclusion practices, implicit biases, trauma-informed practices, respecting protective factors)
-Advocacy -(examples: parental tips to advocate for child, self-advocacy, understanding mental health and trauma to become a better advocate)
- Learning - (examples - learning about ACES, suicide awareness, trauma-informed educational practices, mental health symptoms, local resources, evidence-based practices; supporting teachers and students in schools)
Your involvement will serve as an important part of supporting the well-being of our local community.
We hope you consider submitting a proposal for this event. Please submit a proposal featuring the title, a 50-word abstract of the presentation and how the presentation relates to one or more of the symposium strands.
