Can MN Set A National Example for Child Protection?

The only good news in the tortured death of four-year-old Eric Dean is that Minnesota Governor Dayton's "colossal failure" comment about child protection in the state led to the creation of a task force recommending big changes to how our state handles reports of child abuse.

I am outraged that Minnesota wouldn't use prior reports. This is insane. I worked in Minnesota (Rochester from 2007 - 2010 and I didn't know that).  I mean, I have always know that most reports are screened out and are not investigated but was taught that you still need to make the report as it may be the only way that after several, a report is taken seriously.....

 

Keep up the good work.  They really need to change things in MN as in several states.  I just cannot comprehend how little our society cares for its children. One day, our grandchildren will look back and will think how barbaric we are.
