When the trauma Informed lens is in place, you will inevitably see that change is needed in your organization. The 'change' could be to practice, or process, or maybe wholesale culture change - but there will be change. The impacts (positive and negative) will impact in a parallel process. It should be felt by 'those we serve', 'those we employ' and modeled/felt by leadership. A TIC/ACE/PACE based foundation is exactly what organizations need in order to develop a healthy, thriving workplace environment where creativity and innovation can happen. I think it is safe to say that we would all like to work in this type of healthy, safe, and energizing environment. Wanting to work in a friendly, fun place sounds great - but how do we cultivate that and why is it so important? A healthy, trusting organization can have incredible outcomes (formal and informal) - retention/recruitment of staff, outcomes for those we serve, and the fiscal bottom line to name a few. We've learned, however, that depending on our backgrounds, our brains may be wired for survival making 'change', developing trust and relationships difficult - including in our professional roles. There is good news though! We can create environments where trust can be established and healthy relationships and connections can be formed...in the workplace! Join us on Thursday, April 14th @ 4:30pm CST and letβs talk about what that change might feel and look like.
