On October 30th, Alejandra Aguilar (California Partnership to End Domestic Violence) and I (It’s My Life) attended Essentials for Childhood Initiative's (EfCI) Convening and shared C.H.A.R.M. at Work with fellow attendees to influence their collaborative relationships during the day and for the future.
Collaboration is a key factor in building business. People thrive in environments which free them to communicate and work together. When the environment is focused on collaboration, team members naturally feel a part of something bigger than themselves. The way to transition from an individual to a collaborative mindset is to equip each person for participation in the group dynamic.
During meetings and in shared spaces, from online to in-person, people often come prepared to tackle objectives with little knowledge about how to charm others in the room. Instead, we expect our work to speak for itself and for people to buy our idea simply because we believe it’s “the right thing to do”. But what do they want? What are others bringing to the table? How can we effectively collaborate and strengthen our partnerships using the skills we have?
C.H.A.R.M. at Work - Strengthening Collaborative Relationships
In this training, participants define what collaborative relationships mean through small group discussions, learning and practicing the values of C.H.A.R.M. — Communication, Have Fun, Accountability, Respect, Make Space & Take Space.
C.H.A.R.M. focuses on practical ways that individuals can share their knowledge and collaborate with one another for more effective team efforts and stronger collaborative relationships.
