"The green walls and frosted glass panels in the newly renovated veterans legal clinic at John Marshall Law School might strike most visitors as nothing more than slick finishes in a fancy new office space.
"But to architect Chad Harrell, every detail in the building at 19 W. Jackson Blvd. represents a larger design concept aimed at easing the nerves of veterans who suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder.
"The clinic, which functions as a training ground for law students while providing free legal aid to veterans, is the first nonmedical facility in Chicago to be designed around the theory that environments can soothe or trigger PTSD symptoms...."
