The Clallam Resilience Project’s vision is a collaborative, community-wide effort to foster a resilient Clallam County: its residents, organizations, community, and systems. Our work includes partnering with school districts, Tribes, State and Clallam County agencies, health care networks, and local private non-profit organizations. Our mission is to build resilience through fostering trauma sensitive care and expand the understanding of NEAR sciences (Neuroscience, Epigenetics, Adverse Childhood Experiences, and Resilience) for the benefit of Clallam County. Our mission is enacted through foundation laying, building our path, growing our reach, and new endeavors. Our current programming includes: provide outreach and education to the public by hosting events like trainings; film screening; developing opportunities for agencies and community members to learn, network, build capacity, and develop unique partnerships; applying for and coordinating funding; gathering and evaluating participant evaluations; and assessing and reporting on desired project outputs.
This is a full-time position. The member will have choices of remote, hybrid, or in-person service as COVID-19 safety precautions allow.
In this position, you will assist in building resilience through fostering trauma-sensitive care. Service activities will include designing and strengthening Clallam Resilience Project’s outreach and capacity building for our project and partners. You will familiarize, assess, and evaluate our project and local efforts to assist in the effective development of the project’s educational plan, implementation, and sustainability. You will create online and in-person outreach about trauma-sensitive care by celebrating successes, supporting individual partners, and enhancing the collaboration of community organizations. The collective efforts in understanding and engaging in trauma sensitivity are also developing anti-poverty capacity building for agencies and our community.
The Clallam Resilience Project is supported by United Way of Clallam County (UWCC). Incorporated in Clallam County since 1952, United Way of Clallam County is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization governed by a local volunteer board of directors and managed by three full-time employees and one part-time employee. Hundreds of volunteers county-wide give of their time and talents to United Way and our Partner Agencies. Funds raised in Clallam County go to programs and projects addressing three main areas: Education, Economic Mobility and Health. UWCC recognizes structural racism (and other forms of oppression and commit to leveraging all our assets (convening, strategic investments, awareness building, advocacy) to create more equitable communities.
