Join the national – and international – awareness campaign to break the painful silence and offer hope to the vulnerable kids and teens impacted by parental addiction. While some of these children find a supportive adult who helps protect them from the worst, others may be alone and unaware that healing is possible. As rates monitoring addiction continue to rise, as well as its related overdose, we cannot afford to forget the countless children – those who are often the first hurt and last helped by this devastating disease. The time is more important now than ever to bring these children hope, support, and ultimately healing. Be the caring and supportive adult to help make a difference that could last a lifetime.
We hope you can join us -and the many around the globe who take part in this important week- to spotlight the issues facing children of addiction. Use resources prepared for this year’s campaign:
- COA Awareness Week Flyer
- COA Awareness Week Social Media Toolkit
- Why COA Awareness Week Infographic
- COA Awareness Week Suggested Activities
- Arrows to Helping Infographic
Or use the campaign basics to create something for yourself or your organization!
Begin to promote the week on social media, or to help announce an event where you can raise awareness in your community. Host an event to celebrate the healing of children in your area, and support efforts to build resiliency in children who still need support.
Remember to visit NACoA on Facebook, Twitter, or Linked In for additional materials to share as COA Awareness Week approaches. Together we can help make that difference.
