MacFarland, who's been clinical director of theΒ substance-abuse treatment program for seniors 50 years and older for the last eight years, replaces Dr. William Rockwood, who co-founded Senior Hope Counseling with his wife, Adrienne, in 2002, in Albany, NY.
According to a post on AltamontEnterprise.com, MacFarland is "a pioneer and outspoken advocate in the field of geriatrics" and does presentations about "geriatric addictions and co-occurring disorders among older adults."
More information about how MacFarland has integrated the ACE questionnaire into the program can be found on a post on ACEsTooHigh.com.
