"In order to move from committing to the values prescribed in trauma-informed care to actually implementing trauma-informed practices, the Monroe County SOC decided to create a trauma–informed pilot at four diverse sites. National experts on trauma-informed care from Community Connections in Washington, DC were enlisted to train teams from family court, a court diversion program for women with co-occurring disorders, a state psychiatric hospital child and adolescent inpatient unit, and city school district elementary school."
