Who thinks Dr. Felitti deserves the Congressional Medal of Honor, the Presidential Medal of Freedom, and a Nobel? ACES Connection should be involved in promoting his recognition.
The ACE Study is, in my humble opinion, one of the most groundbreaking studies of all time. Vincent Felitti and Robert Anda are my personal heroes, and anything that brings more attention to their work--and the potential for preventing and healing the effects of trauma--I support.
I whole heartedly agree he and Dr. Anda deserve some form of recognition. If it was not for their ground breaking research on ACE's, the affects of these experiences would likely remain hidden.
I have thought for a long time that Drs Anda and Felitti should share the Nobel in medicine. Someone told me once that the Nobel only goes to biomedical "discoveries", but who knows.
Yes, most definitely. Dr. Felliti and Dr. Anda changed the whole spectrum of modern medicine. Their ground-breaking ACEs study showed that our mental and physical health is influenced by our childhood experiences. It has allowed us, survivors of childhood abuse, to understand the reasons for our poor physical and mental health. And in most cases, it is not genetic.
