Editorial: Looking Forward to Overdue Action Plan on Child Abuse (Green Bay, WI)

It has been 23 months since Brown County noticed a spike in the number of child abuse and neglect reports in Brown County.

At the time, April 2012, officials talked about the seriousness of the problem and how action need to be taken quickly.

Since then, the problem has gotten worse, judging by the number of cases prosecuted, as we have awaited some sort of plan. The county has added some child protection workers, a community summit on child abuse and neglect was held in December 2012, and a task force was formed in February 2013.

On Friday, the child abuse task force will finally unveil its action plan at the Community Summit on Child Maltreatment.
