"...An overall rate of 13.5 per cent of Afghanistan veterans returning home with mental illnesses and an eight-per-cent rate for PTSD. These numbers are huge....

"Inevitably, they will change how civilians perceive military service in a war zone, especially when those civilians remember that members of a well-trained volunteer military likely are mentally tougher to start with than the average...."
