I spend a lot of time talking about trauma and encouraging people who work with kids to try to see from the child's perspective. Behavior is communication telling us something is wrong. The child may not communicate it in a more acceptable way because they are not sure how...not because they are manipulative or just trying to get under our skin. Unfortunately a lot of people will hear Gabby's story because of the end result. I know a lot of you work with kids that are living lives similar or worse. Try and see their lives from their perspective.
