"Award-winning author, Dr. Jane Bluestein, presented her latest book, “The Win-Win Classroom,” in a workshop to approximately 400 Kent School District teachers....

"To prepare for the workshop, each participating school designated at least one teacher to take a 3.5 hour on-line class called Reducing Adverse Childhood Experiences and share the training with teachers at their school.

"The course covered brain science, the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) Study, and resilience research. Participants learned the prevalence and high cost lifelong outcomes of ACEs, the vital role of culture and community to optimize wellbeing, and how to use this emerging research to create transformative conversations...."
