I am a Rosen Method Movement Teacher and Bodywork Intern. I have been living a Rosen Method Wellness Plan for 12 years. It has taught me Embodied Self-Awareness and allowed me to heal from trauma. Yesterday I was sitting with a group of my friends connecting after a long time. We began by updating each other about our families and work and then moved to the state of our country. My friends were very emotional and one said that she was so disturbed by the state of our country that she was feeling overwhelmed, anxious and at times hopeless. All of these women have been community builders for their entire careers. We are older women and one of us is retired. As I embodied their experience I suggested we try "Hands on Shoulders." We took turns sitting in chairs with one of us behind the chair and all received the touch freely given without judgment or expectations. Just being present. They loved it! I looked at their faces and saw hope and connection that they were missing just moments before. As I often say in my ACE Interface Trainings " We are relationship animals and change in relationship." Try "Hands on Shoulders!"
Marion Rosen was an amazing woman and pioneer in Somatic Healing. You can reach me at Rosen Method Wisconsin for more information on The Rosen Method.
