Zero Abuse Project is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to ending child maltreatment. One of Zero Abuse Project’s flagship programs, Child Advocacy Studies (CAST), is an educational curriculum designed to better prepare college learners for the realities of working in child protection.
Zero Abuse Project has been funded through the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention’s Building the Capacity of Undergraduate and Graduate Programs to Train Child Protection Personnel Grant to survey frontline child-serving professionals, Child Advocacy Center (CAC) staff and leadership, and postsecondary faculty and administrators to identify key knowledge and skills gaps that exist when preparing the next generation of child maltreatment investigators and mandated reporters.
As a frontline practitioner working to keep kids safe; an administrator or faculty member in a child-interfacing academic program (e.g., Criminal Justice, Education, Psychology, Social Work, or an applicable program); a CAC professional; or a mixture of these areas of expertise, you and your colleagues are being asked to complete the enclosed survey(s) because your thoughts and opinions are of vital importance in helping enhance and expand the CAST program and improve child maltreatment education across the nation. Please consider assisting us by completing one or more survey, as appropriate based on your expertise. If you are an agency, program, or institutional administrator, we would appreciate your assistance in also passing the survey links along to applicable colleagues for their input.
These surveys are completely anonymous. We encourage you to use your personal opinions and experiences to provide thoughtful answers that will help improve the preparedness of new frontline child protection professionals. Please note: If you are a faculty member working with a Law, Medicine, or Seminary program, there is an additional section of questions dedicated specifically to your area of expertise.
With 15 minutes of your time, you can help improve the CAST program and make a difference in how the field responds to allegations of abuse and neglect. Your contributions will result in a better prepared workforce that will more effectively respond to, and one day end, child abuse.
