PTSD Is a National epidemic effecting about 8% of the population at any one time. That is about 26 million Americans, almost the size of the state of Texas. The following is information about who I am and what my book is about: I have my Masters in Counseling. The ideas in the book "Unlocking the Puzzle of PTSD. A Holistic Guide to Restoring Inner Peace" are easy and effective methods I used for 25 years as a licensed therapist specializing in trauma. These ideas are to help people to empower themselves so that they do not feel like invisible, stigmatized victims. There are 15 reproducible, easy to use activity sheets. There is an entire script for relaxation and one for Visualization with Guided Imagery. These can be used by individual people or by professionals with their clients either individually or in groups. There are many holistic (mind, body, spirit) techniques that I used with clients over the years. There is information about what PTSD and Complex PTSD are and ways to diagnose them. There is information about how PTSD is misdiagnosed as other conditions and what to look for. Some of my presentations include lectures I did at GA Perimeter College on Bullying and on using Energy Psychology (Energy Healing) ideas with Eating Disorders. I did lectures for a psychiatrist and his medical students in GA on trauma and trauma based diagnoses. I have also presented at the Global Humanitarian Summit in GA a couple of years ago. I did a workshop on Prevention of Child Abuse and was part of a panel discussion on PTSD at the Summit. I am on LinkedIn if anyone wants more information about my experience. www.linkedin.com
