Law and Justice interview with Kevin Neary, founder of Aid & Abet

In this extended Law and Justice interview with Scotsman, Kevin Neary, founder of Aid & Abet, we discuss the challenges of safely transitioning from prison back into society, childhood trauma, addiction, offending behaviour, recovery, the need for comprehensive, relationship-based community supports where basic needs are met, the utility of the Adverse Childhood Experience evidence, neuroscience developments and the ACE Aware Nation movement in Scotland, the fact that his family were both a source of his ACEs, but also his buffer, how "lived experience" has become another label and the healing power of relationships.

Jane, thanks so much for sharing this moving, informative and powerful interview with the remarkable Kevin Neary. It is a brilliant illustration of how ACEs-awareness has helped to turn Kevin's life around and how it underpins the work of the charity he has founded. I have to admit that at times I struggled a bit with Kevin's Scot's accent - it does seem to me as a Londoner that a transcription of your most interesting interview would be helpful.

The work you're doing in Cork, Ireland, also sounds most interesting.

Warm regards,
