Junot Diaz writes about childhood trauma in the New Yorker

Thank you for posting Karen. It's so good to see truths like this in mainstream media. Only when we break the silence will we start seeing the magnitude of the problem of child abuse and neglect and be unable to pretend it only happens to the few really vulnerable. 

The shame we survivors embody is not ours, but we own it anyway. We must get the message out that the exploitation and objectification of children is intolerable any longer in our society.
