Local pilot parenting program seeks to lower youth violence (Memphis, TN)

Local leaders are introducing a pilot program to tackle youth problems, like violence and obesity, from a different angle: the parents.
Two pilot “parenting places,” Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) Center, is set to use preventative approaches to reduce emotional and behavioral health challenges with children – including violence and obesity - as it relates to “toxic stress” at home, starting with the parents.

...A county-wide ACE survey will take place during the summer followed by the opening of the two state-of-the-art facilities for parenting place in January 2015. The facilities will be open to all families, regardless of income.
