Dear Dr. Warren:

Congratulations! I am pleased to announce that you have been nominated by your State Governor’s office and selected to receive the 2012 Administration on Children, Youth and Families (ACYF) Commissioner’s Award. This prestigious award honors one recipient from each State, Puerto Rico, the District of Columbia and the Territories, for making an exceptional contribution to the prevention and treatment of child abuse and neglect in his or her State or territory. The award will be presented during the 18th National Conference on Child Abuse and Neglect, to be held April 16-20, 2012, in Washington, DC.

In recognition of your leadership, significant contributions, dedication, and accomplishments, you and five guests are cordially invited to attend the Commissioner’s Award Ceremony and reception on Thursday, April 19, 2012, at the Washington Hilton Hotel in Washington, DC. The State Liaison Officer for Child Abuse and Neglect will also be invited to attend.

This year’s Conference theme, Celebrating the Past ~ Imagining the Future, highlights our desire to embrace our past successes, to learn from our challenges, and to realize our dream of eliminating child abuse and neglect. Convening the 18th National Conference during the Children’s Bureau’s Centennial Year provides a unique opportunity to both reflect on past accomplishments, lessons learned and to articulate a course of action that will steer the child welfare field toward an ever-improving future.

Again, I extend my sincere congratulations to you and hope that you will be able to attend the entire Conference, ACYF is pleased to offer you complementary registration for attending. This year’s Conference promises to be an exciting forum for the exchange of information on new research, practice, and policy issues. We anticipate the participation of more than 2,000 child welfare professionals and advocates at the Conference, representing the numerous disciplines at work in the effort to help maltreated children and their families. For more information on the 18th National Conference please visit the Conference Website at http://www.pal-tech.com/web/OCAN

Sincerely,

Bryan Samuels

Commissioner
