Over the last few years, we've had many educators ask us "do you have anything for my middle schoolers?" Well, we dug in! After a year of research, interviews, and working with experts, we've created a curriculum to help middle school families support their early adolescents during this crucial period of development.
In this article, my colleague, Rebecca Honig, explains why family engagement is so important for kids navigate the big developmental shifts happening in the 6th to 8th grade timeframe. And she unpacks the 4 areas we feel are essential to supporting middle school families.

Words cannot express how excited I am to offer our middle school family engagement curriculum. When I talk about it, I literally burst out of my seat. I got so animated explaining the program last week that I knocked a glass of water onto my desk. I nearly lost a computer and a half dozen books on adolescent development to water damage.
Needless to say, I have big feelings about middle school and they are all GOOD. (That’s a statement I bet you’ve never heard before!)
In all seriousness, developing this curriculum has been a career highlight. And there are so many reasons why.
