I have been involved in all four ACEs Symposium's that LaSalle School has organized (including as a speaker last year, yikes!), and there have been moments each year where I have thought "Look at all these people, this is so cool!" That feeling was multiplied tenfold when I looked at the audience of approximately 800 people who were participating in Allison Sampson-Jackson's bilateral movement exercise last Saturday. It is really heartening to feel like you are part of a movement toward something that can really benefit everyone in every community. Folks came from as far away a Florida to hear about brain science and neurobiology and to have their communication styles challenged so that everyone can make their message as impactful as possible. During lunch, attendees got the chance to talk to some of the agencies participating in MARC, as the agencies shared the work they have been doing with the grant. The day was not without its challenges, and we will use the comments we received to improve for next year, but the evaluations we gathered from more than 400 participates indicate that they gained a lot from the day.
