Reopening Schools: Free Webinar on June 19th from noon -- 2:00 est

There are a plethora of issues as we reopen schools in Fall 2021. This we know: there has been lots of trauma in the intervening 15 months.  Many deaths.  Many family dysfunction issues.  Many suicides, shootings, overdoses, addictive behaviors, abuse and discrimination. The data are varied but it suggested that 1 in 2 or 1 in 3 or 1 in 5 have experienced a Pandemic related death -- they know someone who has passed away due to COVID.

How we reopen schools (and other organizations) and the key questions we need to ask IN ADVANCE are essential to a new beginning with a profound recognition of the past and the reality that trauma never disappears although it can most assuredly be ameliorated.

Four experts in education and psychology will lead this webinar, sponsored by Delta Kappa Gamma International, the women educators honor society.  Attendees will be from across the nation and the globe.  Here is the link to register (and do so soon as there are only 100 spots):

A PDF about the program and the speakers is attached.  Frankly, I can't think of anything we need to do more than prepare for and address the mental wellbeing of our students, educators, families and communities.  This is one webinar that starts not ends a much needed conversation or perhaps continues that conversation for those who have already begun to think through these complex issues.

Onward and look forward to seeing you and/or your colleagues.
