"Major opportunities exist for states to pursue racial equity in child welfare, both through the policies they develop and the way they interpret existing federal guidelines. The well-being of families and caregivers is a defining pathway to a childβs well-being so using existing policy to ensure families have what they need to thrive and develop healthy relationships is key -- and represents another strategy we recommend to improve outcomes for families and children of color".
