New short film "Resilient, Period: Trauma, Healing, Equity, and the Alaska Resilience Initiative"

We are so delighted to share with you the Alaska Resilience Initiative film! Please enjoy and share!

This film, created by Bob Curtis-Johnson of Summit Day Media in partnership with the Alaska Resilience Initiative (ARI), features 3 steering committee members (Dr. Jay Butler, Lisa Wade, and Elsie Boudreau) and the director. This visually-engaging short film, which you can access on the Alaska Resilience Initiative YouTube channel, shows what roles ARI plays in the trauma and resilience field in Alaska and the ways in which we prioritize equity, a comprehensive understanding of trauma, and indigenous worldviews and resilience practices in our work.

We are grateful to the Health Federation of Philadelphia (with support from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation) for the funding opportunity to create this film, and to all of our funders who have allowed us to grow to this point (Health Federation of Philadelphia, Doris Duke Community Foundation, Rasmuson Foundation, Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority, Mat-Su Health Foundation, and our backbone agency, the Alaska Children's Trust).
