Social Change for all

Hey All,

I am looking into starting a national social change campaign. Last year I founded the campaign Hope4Alaska after a loss of an ex-boyfriend to suicide. This campaign allowed me travel around the Alaska to speak about suicide prevention, train and educate Alaska's youth on suicide as well as raise awareness. As Alaska was the top state in the nation with suicide rates we are now number two, due to all of the work our state has done on suicide prevention.

I also gained knowledge on the things that are effecting our communities as a whole and would like to do something about it. I heard some stories from youth across Alaska on homelessness, suicide, health issues (HIV, AIDS), reviving culture, environmental issues, drug abuse, physical abuse, economic struggle, gay rights and of course media.

I am was really touched by the stories and have found that reaching out and educating others about how to prevent these issues, or tackle them to create a better environment is my passion. Although suicide is a huge part of my life, and will always be I don't want my campaign to only focus on suicide prevention but things that can lead up to it. I found this site really useful and would like some opinions on what works best to reach out to others or successful ways to create a national campaign. It can be something about workshops, youth activists, so many things. I just want to throw some ideas around for a proposal and make this a priority.

Thank you and I hope you have time to respond!
