In 2003, Boone founded Together for Resilient Youth (TRY) and today it boasts a 48-member coalition consisting of youth, parents, community members from the five Durham Districts, public schools, church ministry, higher education and more than 400 business representatives, among others. While the network of support and strategic action is complex, the message is simple:

“This [work] is literally about loving people,” Boone said.
