This week's "Breaking the Silence with Dr. Gregory Williams" will be a very special Father's Day Edition. Greg will be giving the world a "glimpse" into his private journal and speak on the topic: "FATHERHOOD: My Faults & My Thoughts."
This show will feature his innermost thoughts of growing up with an abusive father that sexually abused him every day of his childhood until his 17th birthday. Dr. Williams will be sharing how the impact of that kind of trauma and abuse forged the patterns of his own fathering skills with his three boys. He will also be sharing the mistakes of his fathering, what he would do different today and what fathers need to hear as they are raising their own children now.
Dr. Gregory Williams is on the Senior Leadership Team at Baylor College of Medicine’s OB/GYN Department located in Texas Children’s Hospital in the heart of the Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas. He has a PhD in Counseling and is a well-known speaker/teacher.
He is the author of “Shattered by the Darkness: Putting the Pieces Back Together After Child Abuse” that has been published by HCI publishing (the same publishers of the International Bestseller “A Child Called IT” and the “Chicken Soup for the Souls” series.
The 2nd of the 3-part trilogy "Overcoming the Darkness: The Road Map to HOPE" will be released in the next 30 days and will also feature a companion journal and an additional resource HOPE map. A teen version of the book/journal will be released called, "When the Dark Clouds Come" and will be a special book that will be directed to the ages of 10-18 year old and also guide them to the path of journaling in their own personal lives.
He travels the country speaking to thousands of people on child abuse, the aftermaths of abuse, the detection and recognition of abuse and the importance of the Adverse Childhood Experiences. He has been seen on Fox News, ABC News and featured in many magazines and newspapers around the country..
“Breaking the Silence with Dr. Gregory Williams” can be heard LIVE each Sunday evening at 8:00 pm Central Time. The radio program is heard by over 1.6 million listeners each week. The radio show then goes to over 115 podcasts networks around the world.
