The Connection Between Stress Management & ACE
And a New Solution for LESS STRESS NOW
Did you know that Adverse Childhood Experiences impact the way adults are able to cope with stress, whether it be personal, work-related, or due to a global pandemic? It’s true! How well we get through this time of uncertainty, fear and stress relies heavily on how much we’ve worked to resolve our past traumas psychologically, emotionally, and even spiritually.
The ACE Study uncovered the link between childhood trauma and the chronic diseases people develop as adults, as well as social and emotional problems. The issue is, many people don’t know how to free themselves from the psychological clutches of a troubled past, even though it plays a huge role in their health, how they cope, and how they see the world, relate to others, and enjoy inner peace as an adult.
In a patient’s personal case study of Adverse Childhood Experiences, Dear Doctor, published in The Permanente Journal of Winter 2002, Vol. 6 Number 1, an anonymous patient wrote, “I believe that by storing the traumatic memories well out of consciousness, my immune system collapsed, resulting in illness and structural damage.”
These traumatic memories led to deep internal stress, a stress that was left unchecked and eventually manifested into serious health problems for the patient.
A big driver of chronic disease (and general dis-ease, for that matter) is this STRESS and, unfortunately, many of us don’t have the toolbox needed to release it effectively.
Stress is a silent killer.
Whether we lash out, retreat, blame others, wallow in pity, overeat, succumb to addictions, drown in depression, or shake with anxiety, we simply aren’t doing a good job of managing stress in a way that really works, especially because our past can be a driver for how we handle hardships today.
Studies abound show how stress can lead to autoimmune disease, increased blood pressure, heart disease, obesity, depression, anxiety, and more, yet not many are talking about the real issue: The root cause that reveals WHY.
The truth is, stressful things aren’t going anywhere.
Life won’t always be easy, and things won’t always go as planned. A job may be lost, communication with a loved one will be difficult, and a pandemic may uproot your normal in unexpected and uncomfortable ways.
These tough moments are a part of life. What matters is how you respond to those stressors in a way that empowers and uplifts rather than debilitates and destroys.
But how do you do that?
Luckily, healthy stress management is something anyone can learn in a new course offered by TruSage, Less Stress Now. Less Stress Now is a clinically-proven ACE treatment solution that has been in development for over 30 years alongside the popular ACE Study.

TruSage founder, Dr. Brian Alman, is a stress management and resilience expert. As a wellness doctor, author, and researcher, he has been immersed in the world of stress management for decades and appears frequently on NBC News, ABC News, CNN, Fox News, and much more.
Created in collaboration with Dr. Felitti, the Co-Principal Investigator of the ACE Study, the course teaches proven techniques to help students master the skills to effectively cope with any type of stress, any time. Dr. Alman and Dr. Felitti’s extensive research and patient work around the ACE Study, some of which are highlighted in the Kaiser Permanente Medical Journal—and Dr. Alman’s two decades of experience training therapists and counselors for Kaiser’s Positive Choice Wellness Centers—have culminated into this cornerstone of TruSage that couldn’t have come at a better time.
Dr. Alman and Dr. Felitti have worked closely for years to assist patients and provide relief for some of the most difficult cases of psychological trauma and resulting stress. They were training MD’s together at Kaiser Permanente and the University of California, San Diego, and have maintained a collaborative relationship for years in order to share the toolbox for healing that the world so desperately needs. Dr. Felitti has referred hundreds of patients to Dr. Alman in order to gain greater peace, awareness, and joy through tried-and-true methodologies and scientifically-backed techniques that are now widely accepted across the globe.
Dr. Felitti has been “repeatedly impressed” with the reduction of psychological and biomedical symptoms in his referred patients and is impressed with the long-term results patients enjoy after just a few visits with Dr. Alman. “More affordable than conventional psychotherapy” (as Dr. Felitti says), practical, effective, and supported by long-standing research, it’s clear that Dr. Alman’s positive impact in the field—and, as a result, the world—is undeniable.
Stress levels are at an all-time high, but you probably didn’t need the American Psychological Association to tell you that. What you may not realize, however, is that over the long term the APA warns that the negative mental health effects of the coronavirus will be serious and long-lasting. Read more on that here.
Less Stress Now is a necessary solution for anyone who wants a healthy, happy, and stress-free life, no matter what curveballs life throws—or has thrown—their way. It is commonly offered inside of employee healthcare packages but can also be purchased by individuals and industry professionals who want to incorporate it into their patient offerings.
