This is an excellent article from 2007 that I wanted to share.

"Colombia has to define what sort of psychosocial reparation might be appropriate for the victims, people who have borne their grief in silence over a long period of years. The emotional recovery of these men and women goes far beyond what psychological treatment could provide and is linked to recovering their own personal dignity vis-a-vis the society as a whole."
