The Adult Attachment Interview shows 50% of Americans have some failed childhood attachment. Some 50% of Americans also abuse alcohol, drugs, tobacco, food, gambling, internet porn, sex, & more. Those of us who’d never “use,” often become work-aholics.
It’s about “the hole in me” inside of half of us, not just “those people.”
We need a certain secure attachment for the neurons in our infant brain to develop. If not, “parts of my brain are dark” -- the neurons don’t fire.
Until we treat the underlying childhood trauma, says Dr. Vincent J. Felitti, nothing will change and half of us will keep dying early.
That’s the point of his “Origins of Addiction: Evidence from the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) Study,” published last week for the first time in the U.S here for more: http://attachmentdisorderhealing.com/origins-addiction-2/
