The “Hope Beyond Hurt” Poster Now Available in Spanish/El póster "Hope Beyond Hurt" (Hay esperanza después del sufrimiento) ahora disponible en español

[Scroll down to see English translation].  National Council colaboró con el Fondo Nacional de Beneficio Comunitario de Kaiser Permanente para producir "Hay esperanza después del sufrimiento", un póster promocional que alienta a los sobrevivientes de traumas a buscar servicios de terapia y apoyo a fin de llevar una vida más plena y más saludable. Hoy, estamos felices de anunciar que el póster está disponible en español.  

Los proveedores de atención de las comunidades Latinos pueden enfrentar barreras lingüísticas al tratar los traumas, lo que complica su habilidad de proporcionar atención integral y de calidad. Además, quizá Latinos/hispanohablantes no sepan que tienen servicios informados de trauma disponibles si los proveedores carecen materiales adecuados desde el punto de vista cultural o lingüístico. Además, hispanohablantes pueden sentir avergonzados por la carencia de conocer inglés.

[The National Council partnered with the Kaiser Permanente National Community Benefit Fund to produce “Hope Beyond Hurt,” a promotional poster encouraging trauma survivors to seek out therapy and support services in order to live a fuller, healthier life. Today, we are happy to announce that the poster is available in a Spanish language version as well.  And here in English.

Care providers in Spanish-speaking communities can face language barriers when addressing trauma, hindering their ability to provide quality, comprehensive care. Additionally, Spanish-speaking individuals may not know that trauma-informed services are available to them if providers lack culturally and linguistically appropriate materials, or may feel embarrassed about a lack of English language proficiency.

While we acknowledge that this resource does not address the full spectrum of challenges, we encourage all providers to print both versions of Hope Beyond Hurt and provide a welcoming cultural environment for clients.
