The 2023 Montana Summer Institute
The Paradox of the Positive: Preventing Harm by Promoting Health
In Big Sky, Montana and via livestream: June 20-23, 2023
If we want health, we must promote health.
This can seem counterintuitive to those of us who are used to focusing on the dangers and problems we are working to prevent. The Science of the Positive reverses the problem-centered frame: by growing healthy, positive, protective norms, we can decrease risky, harmful, and unhealthy attitudes and behaviors. And when we start to look at the world from a position of hope, it has a profound impact on the questions we ask, the data we collect, and the way we address health and safety issues.
Join us in June 2023 for three and half powerful days that will help you uncover and grow the positives that already exist in your community. Mornings will be filled with dynamic keynote presentations, and the afternoons will be dedicated to interactive, hands-on workshops focused on the Science of the Positive, Positive Community Norms, and Health Outcomes from Positive Experiences (HOPE).
Sign up now to learn how to increase health, strengthen norms, and build lasting change and transformation in your community.
