Yes, he is indeed a great guy! Self reflective and understanding the challenges of a mixed up world. How to reconcile with all the messages we get 'out there' with the ones he discusses, and I assume that people on this website must think about a lot.
I also like the fact he talks about endorphins. I keep thinking atm: it's all about the endorphins, not so much serotonin. Maybe it's different for different people, but I think this chemical has been underestimated. This is what is missed out on. Besides manufacturing it a la drugs, that's I believe we need to find out how to naturally obtain. There was a guy I once saw/read about who had a part of his brain made unusable, but what I cant remember, that resulted in him having no emotions whatsoever. People were fascinated by this as they thought he'd only use his logical processes and become quite robotic to a degree. What happened was that he couldn't do anything, because he had no motivation to decide upon anything. His wife tried to be patient but it ended up too challenging for her. Dopamine I'm sure is what drives us to enact a thought. Without it nothing. So if drugs legal or illegal, and all the addictions on Earth, glad he mentioned a lot - almost anything can become addictive, then people will use them unless they find healthier ways. It's again the health practitioners who have to get this, and discuss healthier ways. Part of TIC.
Thanks for posting Debbie! I like to revisit Gabor Matte's videos periodically. I am particularly interested and impressed how he incorporates an analysis of capitalism (power and oppression) into his personal and professional insights on health and wellness.
